What’s with everyone freaking out about snow in the first weeks of April? Like, on a scale of one to unusual it ranks about 3/10. If it was May I could see maybe being a little annoyed but definitely not surprised/shocked. June for sure, but April? Come on. There’s a reason your studded tires are still legal till the end of the month.

Let me tell you what happened about an hour ago:

- We look out the window to see if it had started snowing/raining yet because the dogs need to go out
-Nope, all clear, take them now!
- Get outside about 10 minutes later and it’s like a goddamn blizzard
- Dogs hate it, get very stubborn, we’re all soaking wet
- at least they did their business

I love cold weather, I love snow, but I’m starting to get tired of it.

I’m not that surprised by it, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t suck. We get a week or so of nice weather and then it’s back again. Also, studded tires aren’t street legal here.

That’s pretty awesome. Studs should be illegal everywhere except roads that don’t have pavement. Unless there’s a significant buildup of ice/snow (which most jurisdictions actively prevent) they only reduce traction, in addition to tearing up the road. But old timers are stuck in their ways, so they’re still permitted in most places between October and April (inclusive). Where’s “here”?

Also I only brought them up because it’s usualy a pretty good rule for “expect winter conditions in these months”. It would take a pretty sizable amount of money paid to me to have studs installed on one of my vehicles, and then as soon as I got around the corner you can bet I’d be down there with a pair of vicegrips pulling them all out.

Yeah, that’s more what I’m upset about. It snowed during my first track day for fuck’s sake!

Although that certainly made it a memorable experience. haha
